Varanasi, Nov. 24 -- National president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC Morcha and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. K Laxman today said that the central government's decision to include caste-based data in the upcoming census is historic for the backward community and is the biggest social reform since independence.
The BJP MP said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a decisive step towards social justice by fulfilling a decades-old demand of the OBC community. He said that for the first time since independence, caste is being included in the 2026-27 census.
