In rare underwater sortie, President Murmu takes submarine in Western seaboard

Parwinder SandhuNew Delhi, Dec. 28 -- President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday undertook her maiden submarine sortie aboard INS Vaghsheer, a state-of-the-art Kalvari-class submarine. Accompanied by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, the President embarked on the submarine at the Karwar naval base in Karnataka.

In a post on X, the Rashtrapati Bhavan wrote, "President Droupadi Murmu embarked the Indian Navy's indigenous Kalvari class submarine INS Vaghsheer at Karwar Naval Base, Karnataka. The President is undertaking a sortie on the Western Seaboard. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi is accompanying the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
