Dhaka/New Delhi, Dec. 31 -- In his letter of condolences to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled his meeting with former Bangladesh prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia in 2015 and also her contributions to the development of Bangladesh, and to the strengthening of bilateral ties with India.
PM Modi termed Khaleda Zia's passing as an irreplaceable void, and expressed confidence that her ideals would be carried forward under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, who returned to Dhaka on Dec 25 after 17 years, and has filed his candidature for the upcoming national polls.
