In Berlin, EAM called on new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, held talks with FM Wadephul

Berlin/New Delhi, May 24 -- External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who was visiting Germany, called on the new Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and held comprehensive talks with his counterpart Johann Wadephul and other top officials.

EAM's visit, from May 22-24 came within the month of the new government formation in Germany and is reflective of the high priority both sides attach to bilateral ties.

During the visit, EAM called on Chancellor Friedrich Merz, held comprehensive talks with his counterpart, Johann Wadephul, and met with Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs & Energy, and Gunter Sautter, Foreign & Security Policy Advisor to the Federal Chancellor.
