Chennai, April 10 -- In an unique outreach initiative, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin, eyeing to retain power breaking the second successive victory jinx, on Friday took his election campaign to Chennai Metro.

Taking the commuters by surprise, Mr Stalin, accompanied by Thousand Lights candidate N Ezhilan, who is seeking re-election, travelled in the Chennai Metro train and directly interacted with the passengers, ascertained their views about the ruling DMK's governnance and the various flagship schemes and sought their views.

The move is seen as part of the DMK's people-centric campaign strategy, aimed at reaching urban voters in an informal and accessible manner.
