Mumbai, Feb. 27 -- Pending claims of individual and collective forest rights should be promptly settled for timely implementation of the Forest Rights Act, Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan said on Thursday.
He was speaking in a review meeting of the implementation of the Forest Rights Act, 2006 in the presence of six divisional commissioners of the state and other senior officials at the Raj Bhavan here.
All Divisional Commissioners should be careful to clear the pendency of forest rights claims themselves. Also progress report in this regard should be given to Raj Bhavan every fifteen days, the governor said.
