Imphal, Sept. 16 -- Imphal West District today won the First Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR) Manipur State Judo Championship-2025, defeating Thoubal District, which finished runners-up.
The champions received a trophy and Rs 50,000, while Thoubal took home Rs 35,000. Thokchom Pravendev of Imphal West was named Best Judoka in the Men's Category, and Helen Moirangtham of Thoubal received the same honour in the Women's Category, each awarded Rs 10,000.
The three-day championship, held at Khuman Lampak Stadium from September 14 to 16, brought together more than 350 judokas from eight teams across Senior, Junior, Cadet, and Sub Junior categories. Over 400 bouts were contested, with participation from both men and women.
