Bhubaneswar, May 26 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across several parts of Odisha over the next five days due to a likely low-pressure area forming over the west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal around May 27.

According to the midday weather bulletin issued by the IMD, an upper air trough now extends from a cyclonic circulation associated with the aforementioned low-pressure area over Marathwada and its neighborhood, stretching across north Telangana, south Chhattisgarh, and south Odisha, tilting southwards above mean sea level.
