Mumbai, Aug. 12 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts between today and tomorrow.
The weather bureau has maintained that Mumbai, along with its adjoining districts, will experience light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.
A low-pressure area is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal today, which is likely to increase rainfall intensity across Konkan, Vidarbha, and Central Maharashtra. The monsoon, which has weakened in recent days, is now regaining strength and the IMD forecasts an escalation in rainfall between today and August 14.
