Mumbai, Sept. 23 -- The India Meteorological Department has extended the yellow alert for Mumbai as the city prepares for continued moderate to heavy rainfall over the next forty-eight hours, with thunderstorms and gusty winds expected to persist through September 25.

According to weather forecasts, Mumbai will experience moderate rainfall with thunderstorms on both Wednesday and Thursday, with maximum temperatures reaching 29 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures around 24 degrees Celsius.

The meteorological department has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning with light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kilometres per hour at isolated locations across the North Konkan region.
