Mumbai, June 7 -- A yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai due to expected rain and thunderstorms, the Meteorological Department said on Saturday.

The Regional Meteorological Department attributed the weather to oligocyclonic conditions affecting the region, along with weak southwest monsoon winds.

Mumbai witnessed significant rainfall at several locations on Friday, while other parts of Maharashtra remained under cloudy skies.

Temperatures held steady without much increase, but the combination of humidity and intermittent rain created a muggy and uncomfortable atmosphere for residents.
