Shimla, Feb. 18 -- The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy snowfall in the high-altitude regions of Himachal Pradesh, predicting a wet spell across the state from the midnight of February 19 to the forenoon of February 21, 2025.

The alert comes as a Western Disturbance, currently positioned as a trough in the middle tropospheric level along Longitude 55degE to the north of Latitude 32degN, is expected to move east-northeastwards, bringing widespread rainfall and snowfall to the region.
