Shimla, Oct. 4 -- The weather in Himachal Pradesh is set to undergo a significant shift starting today, with rain likely to persist until October 9.
In response to an active Western Disturbance, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Orange and Yellow alerts for several districts.
An Orange alert, warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms, has been issued for multiple regions on October 5 and 6.
The most intense weather activity is expected on October 6, during which heavy to very heavy rain, hailstorms, and strong winds (40-50 km/h) are expected in some places.
The weather will change further on October 7, when snowfall is expected in higher altitude areas. A Yellow alert has been issued for the day.
