Shimla, April 18 -- Himachal Pradesh is set to face two days of intense weather conditions as the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla, has issued an orange alert for seven districts - Chamba, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Shimla, and Lahaul-Spiti - and a yellow warning for the remaining five. It has forecast widespread inclement weather for Friday and Saturday (April 18-19).

"The state would experience a turbulent spell marked by hailstorms, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds ranging from 40 to 60 km/h, and isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall in middle and high hill regions," the IMD stated in a special weather bulletin here today.
