Shimla, Oct. 28 -- Illegible doctors' prescriptions can compromise the safety and quality of healthcare. As many as 5.2 million preventable medical errors and adverse drug reactions have been noted in India, according to a recent study by the Harvard School of Public Health.
Illegible prescriptions are a contributing factor, said Dr Naresh Purohit, Principal Investigator for Indian Medical Academy for Preventive Health.
Dr Purohit voiced his concern on the issue after virtually addressing a webinar on 'Preventable medical errors in healthcare' organised by the Solan-based Maharishi Markandeshwar University Medical College.
