Godda, Nov. 24 -- A large consignment of illegal foreign liquor was seized by Hanhwara Police today during a special vehicle-checking drive near the pond at Kushaha village.
Acting on a tip-off that liquor smugglers were preparing to transport the consignment to Bihar, the police team, accompanied by armed personnel, intercepted two men riding a motorcycle carrying sacks.
On spotting the police vehicle, the duo attempted to flee but were chased and apprehended. During interrogation, they admitted that the sacks contained foreign liquor and failed to produce any valid documents.
