Pratapgarh, Oct. 6 -- In a major crackdown today ahead of upcoming Diwali festival, the local administration and Devsara police uncovered a large stock of illegal firecrackers and explosive materials from a shut-down women's college in Sapahachat village, located on the Patti-Aamapur road.

Authorities seized firecrackers worth an estimated Rs 47 lakh and arrested four individuals, including the principal of the college.

Among those arrested are college principal Adya Prasad Singh, firecracker trader Madina Begum, and her two sons, Salman Siddiqui and Saif.
