Chennai, Nov. 26 -- The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-Madras) researchers have developed and deployed India'sfirst indigenous Vessel Traffic Management (VTM) System for Ports.
The system has been developed completely by National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC), based onthe requirements outlined by the union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoSPW).
A key advantage of the this VTM is that the MoSPW and the union Government have full and strategic control over source code, databases and aspects of the solution.
