Chennai, Feb. 16 -- The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) is partnership with Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) to create a knowledge hub 'VAYYU'--the Virtual Research Centre (VRC) on Aerosol-Meteorology Interactions, Himalayan Atmosphere-Cryosphere interactions, and Urban Air.
The new VRC will focus on advanced simulations and state-of-the-art observations to better understand how aerosols influence regional hydro-climate, Himalayan snow and glacier melting and Air Quality in Indian megacities and beyond.
It would integrate advanced climate modelling, integrated land-atmosphere-chemistry supersites and Indo-Finnish expertise to deliver fundamental earth system research, climate-risk insights and improved weather modelsA ...
