Kharagpur, Dec. 19 -- IIT Kharagpur has announced a new research initiative in partnership with the Intuitive Foundation, a non-profit funded by Intuitive Surgical, the global leader in minimally invasive care and pioneer of robotic-assisted surgery.
The programme aims to develop comprehensive digital models of surgical care that can underpin safer guidance, AI-enabled decision support, and early-stage automation in robotic-assisted procedures. Over time, these advancements are expected to help surgeons work with greater confidence and consistency, supporting better patient outcomes through standardised and predictable surgical processes.
