Hyderabad, Sept. 29 -- Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL), a leading vaccine manufacturer, on Monday announced the launch of India's very first, indigenously developed gE deleted DIVA (Differentiated between Infected and Vaccinated Animal) marker vaccine against Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR). IBR disease is endemic in India and is caused by Bovine Herpes Virus (BHV-1).

This disease is transmitted through the aerosol route and affects reproductive systems. It is also transmitted by semen from Bulls to milch animals, Hyderabad based vaccine maker said in a release here.

Infertility, abortions and lower milk productivity are some of the major impacts of this disease.
