Shimla, July 25 -- A 72-year-old woman died at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) Shimla today morning, triggering allegations of medical negligence by her family.
However, hospital authorities have issued a press statement denying any lapse in care and attributing her death to a heart attack and complications from blood cancer.
According to the official statement from IGMC's Medical Superintendent, Dr Rahul Rau the patient, Sev Dasi, was brought to the emergency department at 5:33 a.m. after being referred from Nerchowk Medical College.
