Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 3 -- The 30th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), to be held from December 12 to 19, 2025, will pay tribute to iconic Egyptian filmmaker Youssef Chahine with a special retrospective marking his birth centenary year.

The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the organiser of the festival, has curated three of Chahine's finest works for the showcase.

The films selected for the centenary retrospective are Cairo Station (1958), Alexandria Again and Forever (1989), and The Other (1999), each reflecting different phases of the auteur's expansive creative journey.

A towering figure of Arab and Egyptian cinema, Chahine was the recipient of the 50th Lifetime Achievement Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Active from...
