Imphal, Dec. 6 -- Representatives of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) on Saturday submitted a fresh reminder memorandum to the Governor of Manipur and the Chief Secretary, urging the state government to honour its own December deadline for the complete resettlement of all displaced families.
The memorandum, issued from Lamboikhongnangkhong, Uripok, marks the latest in a series of communications by IDP groups pressing the state for visible and verifiable progress on resettlement. The document reiterates that only 26 days remain for the government to fulfil assurances earlier given to IDP representatives and endorsed by civil society bodies.
