Tel Aviv, March 24 -- Amid escalating hostilities, Israel launched a fresh wave of airstrikes on Iran shortly after President Donald Trump announced a five-day halt on Washington's attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure, citing 'productive' discussions with Tehran.

Barely 40 minutes post the announcement, the Israeli military said it had 'just begun another wave of strikes targeting infrastructure of the Iranian terror regime across Tehran', adding that it would continue its operations in line with government directives, unless told otherwise.
