Hyderabad, May 22 -- ICFAI University Chancellor and former RBI Governor Dr C Rangarajan on Thursday said that identifying employment-generating sectors is required for economic development to reach the masses.
In his inaugural address at the two-day Annual Doctoral Thesis Conference organized by the ICFAI School of Social Sciences, in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, here, Rangarajan ,pointed to some of the challenges in Government of India's goal of 'Viksit Bharat', or transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
He explained that an yearly economic growth rate of over 7 percent would be required in the coming years.
