New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- After remaining on life support for a week, Bharatiya Janata Party's iconic leader Arun Jaitley, 66, passed away on Saturday noon at the AIIMS. Jaitley was admitted to the hospital on August 9 following breathing trouble and weakness. His condition deteriorated after being stable for a couple of days. Suffering from lung infection, response from vitals weakened and on Saturday he went into a massive cardiac arrest. "It is with profound grief that we inform the sad demise of Shri Arun Jaitley, Hon'ble member of Parliament and former finance minister at 1207 hrs on 24th August, 2019," according to a statement from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
