Chennai, April 22 -- The Indian Coast Guard Region (East) will be conducting the Regional-level Search and Rescue (SAR) Exercise on April 24 aimed at revalidating and enhancing coordination among various maritime and civil agencies in responding to distress situations at sea.

The exercise at ICG Station, Karaikal wil be a comprehensive SAR Exercise which will feature the active participation of the Indian Navy, Customs, Karaikal Port, and other stakeholders alongside approximately five surface units and multiple air assets of the Indian Coast Guard.

The exercise will simulate a maritime distress scenario, fostering synergy and operational readiness across all involved stakeholders, a defence release sid here on Tuesday.
