Chennai, Aug. 31 -- An Indian Coast Guard Ship today rescued a fisherman stranded inmidesea for four hours after he fell from his Vallam (a country boat) and was floating inwater, struggling for his life, and brough to Karaikal shore in Puducherry.
A defence statementsaid the ICG Ship Rani Durgavati on surveillance sighted a fishermanin water and immediately rescued him.
The fisherman had fallen overboard from vallam and had spent over four hrs floating in water.
The survivor was brought ashore to Karaikal.
