New Delhi, Sept. 29 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today stressed that political instability in India's neighbouring countries is increasingly affecting maritime security, especially in the Bay of Bengal.
Addressing the inaugural session of the 42nd Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Commanders' Conference in ICG Headquarters here, he urged the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) to go beyond routine surveillance and maintain a high level of geopolitical awareness, along with the readiness to respond swiftly to external developments, a Defence Ministry statement said.
