New Delhi, Dec. 24 -- Marking a major boost to India's maritime pollution response capability, the Indian Coast Guard has inducted Samudra Pratap, the country's first indigenously built Pollution Control Vessel.

Constructed by Goa Shipyard Limited with over 60 per cent indigenous content, the vessel is the largest ship in the ICG fleet, significantly enhancing the Coast Guard's operational reach and capability besides enhancing the force's preparedness to tackle marine environmental emergencies.
