Itanagar, Jan. 30 -- The Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully carried out a firefighting operation in Arunachal Pradesh's Lohit Valley, battling forest fires at an altitude of nearly 9,500 feet in challenging Himalayan conditions.
Demonstrating exceptional courage and precision, IAF Mi-17V5 helicopters undertook aerial firefighting missions, dropping nearly 12,000 litres of water in the rarefied air to contain the blaze and protect lives and the region's fragile ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his gratitude to the Indian Air Force for its swift response.
