Vienna, Aug. 27 -- International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi is under 24-hour protection by an elite unit of Austrian secret services over an alleged threat to him from Iran, The Wall Street Journal newspaper reported, citing sources.
The Cobra unit took Grossi under protection after the country's intelligence received information about a threat to him from individuals associated with Iran, the report said on Tuesday. The unit is reportedly used to counter the most serious threats, such as the preparation of terrorist attacks, and to ensure the safety of high-ranking officials, including the Austrian chancellor.
