Hyderabad, July 21 -- Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C V Anand, IPS, along with his wife Ms Lalitha Anand, visited the historic Akkana Madanna Temple on Monday and formally flagged off the Ghattam procession, marking a key ritual in the ongoing Bonalu festivities.

Expressing his happiness at participating in the religious event, Commissioner Anand extended his heartfelt wishes and gratitude to the temple management and procession organisers.

He recalled the rich 350-year history of the Akkana Madanna Temple, tracing its origins to the Qutub Shahi period in 1675, when rituals were performed continuously for a decade.
