Hyderabad, Oct. 18 -- The Cybercrime Unit of Hyderabad City Police has issued a public advisory warning citizens about a surge in credit card-related frauds involving phishing links, fake merchant websites, UPI/QR scams, reward-point redemption traps, fake customer-care numbers, and malicious mobile apps.

A police statement today said fraudsters are increasingly using deceptive techniques such as fake payment portals, fraudulent helpline numbers, and fake offers for credit-limit enhancement or card upgrades to steal sensitive card and OTP details.

Victims are often tricked into sharing personal information or downloading apps that secretly capture financial data.
