Hyderabad, Sept. 26 -- Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) on Friday issued a flood warning after the twin reservoirs of Osman Sagar and Himayath Sagar discharged 12,000 cusecs.
The HMWSSB is currently operating four floodgates, two each at Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, releasing surplus water into the River Musi. Consequently, areas along the River Musi have been alerted by local revenue authorities.
In a swift and proactive measure to safeguard public safety, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has evacuated 55 residents from flood-prone localities under Shivaji Bridge and near Bhoo Laxmi Temple following the lifting of gates at Hyderabad's twin reservoirs, Himayatsagar and Osmansagar.
