Hyderabad, Dec. 21 -- The proposed Hate Speech legislation by the Congress-led Telangana government has triggered a fresh political confrontation, with the BJP today accusing the ruling party of attempting to silence opposition voices ahead of key political developments in the state.
On Saturday, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the Congress government would enact a new law to curb hate speech against any religion or community, including acts of instigation and provocation that could trigger communal disturbances.
Addressing at the Christian community celebrations, the CM had said the proposed legislation will be tabled in the state assembly during the budget session.
