Hyderabad, Oct. 31 -- The Backward Classes Joint Action Committee, a group formed in Hyderabad earlier to campaign for increased Backward Classes (BC) reservations, particularly a 42% quota in Telangana, today appointed state convenors selected from each caste.

The BC JAC which conducted a meeting with 80 BC caste associations and 35 B.C. associations here for the future movement programs, demanded that 42 per cent reservation for BCs in local body elections be provided legally, the committee chairman and Rajya Sabha member R. Krishnaiah said in a release here.
