Hyderabad, Jan. 26 -- Eminent oncologist Dr. Nori Dattatreyudu on Monday said that being conferred the Padma Bhushan is not merely a personal honour but a renewed responsibility to intensify the fight against cancer across the country, particularly in the two Telugu states.
Speaking to reporters during the Republic Day celebrations at the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI), Dr. Nori said that while he has received numerous international awards, recognition from his own country brings him the greatest sense of fulfilment.
Calling the Padma Bhushan "a challenge," he said it has strengthened his mission to combat the growing cancer burden through awareness, early detection and timely treatment.
