Hyderabad, March 8 -- In the backdrop of stoppage funds to the institute by the Central Government, the members of NIRDPR( National Institute of Rural Development and
Panchayati Raj) community are planning to organize a "Dharna" at Dharna Chowk here
on Sunday.
The Institute is an apex autonomous training and research institute under the Ministry of Rural
Development (MoRD).
Established in 1958, the Institute has been playing a pivotal role in shaping rural development policies, strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and offering for rural development functionaries across the country in partnership with 29 states institutes of Rural Development
(SIRDs) and 90 extension centers.
