Hyderabad, Jan. 13 -- The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) collected 88 metric tonnes of electronic waste during a two-day Mega E-Sanitation Drive conducted across the city, a release stated on Tuesday.
On the first day, the drive was carried out at 271 location within GHMC limits with the deployment of 95 vehicles, resulting in the collection of 47 metric tonnes of e-waste.
On the second day, operations covered 260 locations, and 96 vehicles were pressed into service, collecting an additional 41 metric tonnes of electronic waste.
The collected e-waste was transported to authorised processing units for scientific and environmentally safe disposal.
