Hyderabad, March 29 -- The Special Judge for CBI cases in Hyderabad has sentenced Thodi Ramesh, the former Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) at the Office of the Commissioner of Labour in Hyderabad, to undergo two years of Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) along with a fine of Rs one lakh.

The sentence comes in connection with a case involving disproportionate assets.

The court has also ordered the confiscation of an amount totalling Rs 27,73,033, assessed as the value of the accused's disproportionate assets at the end of the check period (Aug 26, 2006), to be handed over to the state after the expiry of the appeal period.
