Hyderabad, Feb. 12 -- The Hyderabad District Congress Committee (DCC) on Thursday demanded the repeal or major amendments to the four central Labour Codes, alleging that they dilute workers' rights and job security.
Addressing a public meeting at Dharna Chowk after the Bharat Bandh rally, DCC president Syed Khalid Saifullah called for restoration of the 100-worker threshold for retrenchment protection and withdrawal of restrictions on the right to strike.
The rally was held as part of the nationwide Bharat Bandh called by a joint platform of central trade unions and farmers' organisations. It began at the VST union Office in Baghlingampally and concluded at Indira Park.
