Hyderabad, April 8 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday apprehended an artisan from the Telangana State Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL), Mangalhat Division, Hyderabad, for accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
At 1245 hours on Tuesday, the accused officer, Abdul Rahaman, was caught by the ACB City Range Unit-2 when he demanded and accepted Rs 20,000 as a bribe from the complainant.
The bribe was sought in exchange for not reporting the damage found in the complainant's old meter (S.No. 10924763) and to prevent the imposition of a penalty, an ACB statement said.
The accused officer was found to have performed his public duties improperly and dishonestly. The bribe amount was recovered from him based on his confession. A c...
