Budapest, Sept. 24 -- Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in yet another jab at the European Union, warned that the body was in the throes of a slow and inevitable collapse if it fails to embrace radical change.

Commenting on the EU's fragility and frictions within member states, he cautioned that unless the body refuses to act now, it will wane, and collapse much like the Roman Empire.

Addressing parliament in Budapest, he said "I do not see in the European union the capacity for renewal we need. If the EU does not urgently make a sharp turn, its history will come to an end," reports RIA Novosti.
