New Delhi, Aug. 2 -- A total of 212 rape incidents, including 41 gang rapes, 12 post-assault murders and one suicide linked to sexual violence were reported in strife-torn Bangladesh during the last two months, according to Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minorities (HRCBM).
At a seminar "The Human Rights Crisis in Bangladesh and Pathways to Legal Redress" held in Dhaka yesterday, HRCBM's national convenor advocate Lucky Bacchar presented a chilling dossier covering June-July 2025, revealing 42 incidents of targeted mob attacks, land grabs, shrine desecrations, 16 deaths and many forced displacements leading to at least 16 deaths.
