Patna, Aug. 22 -- In a major crackdown on corruption, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) today raided the residence of a Superintendent Engineer Vinod Kumar Rai and seized huge cash, burnt currency notes, land deeds and jewellery along with several incriminating documents.
Official sources said here that the raid was carried out at Rai's four-storey house in the state capital. According to officials, Rai is currently posted in Sitamarhi and also holds an additional charge of Madhubani. Acting on information regarding disproportionate assets, an EOU team had reached his residence late Thursday night but was denied entry, with the family citing that only a woman was present inside.
