Shimla, Jan. 22 -- Pensioners of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) have strongly protested the continued delay in the release of their monthly pensions, alleging apathy on the part of the state government despite repeated assurances.
They termed the delay beyond the 22nd of the month as a "New Year's gift" that has caused financial distress to thousands of retired employees.
In a joint statement, office-bearers of the Road Transport Pensioners Welfare Organisation said the government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has failed to find a permanent solution to the pension issue even after more than two years in office.
