Shimla, March 28 -- Himachal Pradesh University has decided to increase its college and university fees by three per cent, with the revised structure likely to come into effect from the next academic session. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Executive Council held at the Summer Hill campus on Saturday, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Dr Mahavir Singh.
The modest hike comes amid growing financial constraints faced by the university. Officials indicated that the grant-in-aid is expected to be reduced by nearly five per cent in the coming financial year, leaving the university with around Rs 41 Crore against its annual expenditure of approximately Rs 95 Crore.
