Shimla, March 7 -- The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited has dismissed the alleged claims made by a local resident regarding smart meters and electricity infrastructure, terming the allegations "baseless and misleading".
In a press release issued on Friday from Shimla, a spokesperson of the Board said that the issues raised by Dilip Singh during the "Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar" programme held on February 27, 2026, at Gram Panchayat Jaunaji in Solan district were far from factual.The spokesperson clarified that the electricity bill of around Rs.12,000 cited by Singh during the programme actually pertains to domestic consumer number 100001070839 and represents accumulated dues from December 2024 to January 2026.
